Chris performed at a number of different venues in Los Angeles, including a seaside concert at Redondo Beach Pier and several concerts in the San Fernando Valley.

It was a unique place that quickly became one of the best jazz venues in the area until Howard retired in 1985. The Sunday Modern Jazz concerts were so popular that it did not take long for a format to establish itself from Wednesday to Sunday. His musical career began at the age of nine when he began to learn guitar and bass. A few years later he discovered his passion for drums and began studying with the band Broken Iris, one of the most popular jazz bands in the area. In 2005 Chris joined Broken Iris and recorded his first album, "The New Music of John Coltrane," a collection of songs from his early years.

Chris is a PhD student at USC and specializes in applied drum sets in the field of drum sets. After graduating from WPUNJ, he was accepted to the University of California, San Diego School of Drum and Drumming and the USC Drum Set Program.

After leaving school, Chris quickly became interested in performing with the Lighthouse Band, a group of young musicians from the San Diego area. In the 1950s, one of the country's most talented young drummers, John Coltrane, took to the stage at the "Lighthouse."
